Beef Liver Meatball and Cabbage Soup

This recipe has many layers of flavor that make the liver much less noticeable. There is a savory, salty broth made with a parmesan rind, lots of hearty vegetables, and the meatballs which contain ground beef, liver, and spices. You can adjust the amount of liver according to your taste. Try just 1/4 pound if you’re not sure you’ll like it or go all the way to 3/4 pound if you’re a liver-eating pro.

Nutritional Differences of Grass-fed Beef and Conventional Beef

Check out this photo that was snapped with a side-by-side view of ground meat. One is store-bought, conventionally grown beef and the other is from a grass-fed farm purchased beef share. Which is which? What other observations can you make just by sight? Which one would you rather eat? Grass-Fed Beef and Bacon Pizza

I call this my “meat lovers” pizza. It is delicious and satisfying. The caramelized onions add a lovely sweetness to the savory meat toppings. It gets rave review wherever I serve it!

Grass-Fed Beef Tomato Spaghetti Sauce

When served with sprouted grain pasta, this sauce offers a nutrient-dense alternative to jarred commercial pasta sauces. It freezes well, too, and children love it!

Stuffed Cheddar Beef Burgers

Burgers are the classic summer fare and adding cheese to the middle of the patties yields a delicious surprise for dinner! Use grass-fed beef and raw milk cheese for the most nutrition and best flavor.

Vegetarian Chili with Red Kidney Beans and Red Peppers

Vegetarian chili — a healthy comfort food for anyone fasting from animal products or if you’ve run out of grass-finished ground beef and still want a yummy bowl of chili! This vegetarian chili with red peppers will keep you warm on the coldest of days.

Meatloaf with Flax Seed

This Middle Eastern–style meatloaf is actually a ground beef and pine nut filling between two layers of a seasoned meat paste. The nutty flavor of flaxseed combines well with grass-fed ground beef, which has more healthful Omega-3s and conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs, or healthful fats) than you’ll find in grain-fed beef. Tomato paste gives this dish a lycopene lift. For a spicier meatloaf, use red pepper paste instead. I like to eat this dish drizzled with lemon juice to bring out all the flavors.

Big Cast Iron Skillet Chili

Oh my, oh my. Best chili I’ve ever made. My children, who don’t usually like chili actually like it. My husband loves it. I adapted this recipe from one in The Primal Blueprint Cookbook. I used a huge cast iron skillet to make this chili. You could also use a large pot. This makes a large amount and would be easy to cut in half.

Real Food Camping: Grain-free Sausage Pancake and Ultimate Bacon-Avo Grass-fed Burgers

Yesterday we had good ole scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. Lunch was the usual foraging. Dinner was amazing. I am sorry to say I didn’t get a pic because my phone was dead. In any case, I will put the recipe up anyway. Ultimate Bacon Avocado Burgers Serves 6 2 lbs grassfed ground beef … Continue reading “Real Food Camping: Grain-free Sausage Pancake and Ultimate Bacon-Avo Grass-fed Burgers”

Bacon Cheddar Burger

A burger is always better home made, but there are so many fancy ones you can get when you go out. The bacon cheddar combo is one of my favorites at home or when we go out.
