Recipe Description:
Whether you do it for the nutritional reasons of reducing phytic acid — or because you’re excited to finally make rice that DOESN’T stick to the bottom of your pot! — this basic method for preparing rice is a staple for any kitchen.
I am a little confused. After soaking, draining and rinsing the rice, how much water do you add for stove top cooking?
This is a ballpark. you could go
with the 1:2 ratio but subtract about 1/4 - 1/3 cup of water for each cup of rice you soaked. So of you soaked 1 cup of rice you would cook it in 1 3/4 cup if water. It’s hard to know how much water your rice will soak up in the soaking process. Better to end up with stickier rice than crunchy rice.
Very true! Thank you!
