Apple Pie sounded good last Friday, so I searched for a recipe. But I didn’t find one that suited my fancy so I came up with this recipe. Please excuse the “not-so-pretty” crust. I’m not an amazing pie maker. ;-) I made the crust with sprouted spelt flour and it turned out a little crumblier than I would have liked, I need to work on that recipe.
Recipe Ingredients:
1 sprouted flour pie crust (double crust)
8 small tart apples (I used some from Azure Standard)
Slice apples very thin. In a small saucepan, heat butter and honey until butter is melted and honey is very runny. Remove from heat and mix in spices. Stir in apple slices until coated. Place in pie crust and put the top crust over it. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until crust is golden. Serve warm and enjoy!
