A healthy and super-tasty doughnut. The blend of cinnamon and nutmeg paired with whole grains give these a rich, hearty taste. Your family will love these and ask for them over and over (like my family does :-)!
1 T apple cider vinegar or lemon juice added to milk or milk sub to make a total of 1 c liquid)
Topping: 3 Tbsp granulated sweetener & 1 t cinnamon
Recipe
Instructions:
For Soaking:Combine flour, sweetener, fats, and liquids together (excluding the eggs. If using a powdered egg replacer, you can add the liquid portion of the replacer at this point in order to make the dough easier to handle). Let dough rest for 12-24 hours.
Add remaining ingredients. Mix well.
Roll out dough to about 1/2″ thickness. Cut with doughnut cutter, or shape into desired shapes. Brush tops with melted coconut oil, milk, milk alternative, or water. Sprinkle with topping.
Bake at 425 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
